The Daily WAV - Daily WAV features a different WAV file every day. You can search through past sound archives to see ones which you have missed or search for a WAV sound by entering the first letter of the title. The site is bright and very easy to use and makes use of drop down boxes. They also have a links section and a collection of MIDI files for you to browse through and download.

Sample Arena - Sample Arena is a treasure trove of free sound samples. This site contains over 1000 different drum beats, effects and instrumentals, plus has links to the best mixing/synthesizing tools. The hottest and best sample effects are situated on the home page for easy access. If downloading takes too much of your time, CD-ROMs are available to buy (these aren't free though!) 

FREEMidi.com - Directory-style Web site that has a simple, fast-loading design. They offer an easy way to find sites that provide free MIDI files and other related resources, such as sound freeware, tablature, hardware and more. Top rated Web sites are separated into their own category, as are the coolest listings and the newest. We've found this site to be one of the best. (Recommended)

Lockergnome's Christmas MIDIs - It's difficult to find good MIDI sites on the Net nowadays, particularly as other sound-formats such as MP3 are getting easier to acquire. With this in mind, FreebieList.com has took great care to find a quality collection, and here it is! Lockergnome.com (provider of some interesting tech-email newsletters) has Jingle Bells, Silent Night and many more.

WAVSearch.com - A fine sound file search engine. WAVSearch.com allows you to search for .wav files over the Internet and download them. They also give detailed information on what WAV files actually are and how to have lots of fun with them. To help, they have even included a tutorial on how to integrate sounds in your computer. A simple site that sacrifices graphics for quality content.

Gif and Sound - Amongst other things, Gif and Sound includes free MIDI files to download. In order to access the files, you first need to register. To do this, simply click on the image-link labeled "new members sign up" and then enter the details required. Note: all membership requests are held in a queue and are manually approved by a human, so remember to complete the form accurately.

WAVList.com - Find a list of WAVs at WAVList.com (just like you find a list of freebies, here at FreebieList.com). This complete directory features a large collection of WAV files, ranging from television shows (e.g. Bevis & Butt Head, Garfield, Peanuts, The Simpsons) to celebrity voices. There's also a message board here and a rather comprehensive trivia and "other links" section.

Sample City - Here's a well-presented and sleekly designed Web site that offers many free sound samples for dance music and other types, in the WAV file format. Due to popular demand (and various other reasons) the webmaster has reduced the download limit to 20 a day, which is plenty enough for you to knock-up a fairly decent tune and impress your friends at the same time.
